I took a day trip to Chicago with my brother and a close friend. We ventured to the 360 Chicago experience in the John Hancock building. We were blown away with the view of the city. Absolutely breathtaking. This is the second highest building I’ve been in. Being from New York, I’ve been to the top of Freedom Tower to the observation deck. If you’re ever in Chicago, definitely check out 360 Chicago.
As an immigrant, this scene really spoke to me. I’d always heard of the expression “America’s streets are paved in gold”, but I never really got it until I saw Chicago from this angle.
My buddy was about to cross the street to take a photo and I noticed his reflection in the puddle. Goes to show sometimes you find an awesome shot, and sometimes it finds you.
It was New Year’s Eve, and we really wanted to find a place to watch the sun go down on Chicago. Naturally, every other view was either booked, or crazy expensive. Then, we found the Signature Room in the John Hancock Center. The sun had just set when this photo was taken, and soon the new year countdown would begin. Chicago is bustling by day, but awe-inspiring at night- especially looking at the city from above- here’s a unique view of Michigan Avenue, one of Chicago’s most prolific locations.
The glass in the John Hancock building is surprisingly dirty, casting the interiors in a 70’s sepia light.
Shot this just after sunrise on a cloudy day in the city of Big Shoulders. The wind was calm and the scene was quiet. The city’s yawn before the start to the big day ahead.
